Build-A-Story - ages 10-18
Write and illustrate your own story book, comic book, or graphic short story.  This hybrid course, taught with Illustrator Suzanne Muccina, teaches students the fundamentals of story writing and illustration in a fun and exciting class.  BUILD A STORY BOOK OF YOUR VERY OWN TO BRING HOME!

Fiction Writing for Young Adults - ages 11-17

Do you have a story you can't wait to write?  Maybe you want to take your reader on a journey someplace real or imagined.  This is the course for you!  We'll learn about the fondamentals of fiction writing.  Each week, we will be reading, writing, and, if you are comfortable with it, sharing your story drafts with your fellow classmates.  C'mon - what's your story?

Playwriting for Young Adults - ages 11-17
Have you ever written a skit for you parents, friends, a neighborhood or family picnic?  Have you thought of it?  Perhaps you've created a Halloween Haunted House with characters and action.  Maybe you just have an idea in your head and you want to see it on the stage.  In this course, we will use fun writing exercises to discove the elements of crafting plays.  We will look at and develop the who, what, and where of your play and how to engage your audience.

FOR YOUNG ADULTS AND ADULTS

Stage Management:  The Art and Organization - ages 16 - adult
This course is for people who have little or no experience with Stage Management, but who wish to pursue the art and organization which Sir Peter Hall states must "...create an atmosphere of enthusiasm and hard work and belief."  The purpose of this course is to begin developing the skills that will guide you to create that atmosphere with skillful organization and a delicate, yet completely involved, hand.

Introduction to Playwriting - ages 16 - adult
The stage is a magical place. Actors and audience make for an immediacy no other art of the written word can duplicate:  that magic begins with the playwright.  Whether you’ve never written anything before or you’re experienced in another kind of writing or you’re a playwright looking to sharpen your skills, this course offers guidance in the basics of storytelling: character, action, conflict, setting, dialogue and formatting.

Introduction to Fiction - ages 16 - adult
This course is for people who have little or no experience writing fiction.  The purpose of this course is to develop creative writing skills needed for students to feel capable and empowered while learning to write stories.  Each week, we will be reading, writing, and sharing your story drafts with fellow classmates.  In addition, as new writers, you will spend time simply observing and thinking about the world around you in deeper and more intense ways than you might have before.

FOR ADULTS AND SENIORS

Contemporary Memoir Craft
This workshop is for people who have little or no experience with memoir writing, but who wish to pursue a Comtemporary Memoir approach to personal narrative.  The purpose of this course is to begin developing memoir writing skills that guide you to tell your own story, with your own voice, quirkiness, pain, joy, and your own way of seeing the world.

Fiction Writers' Workshop
Do you have a story you are working on, or would like to begin, that needs new stimulus?  Are you a writer who feels stuck or blocked?  Do you simply want to share your works with fellow writers for critiques, encouragement, and ideas?  This workshop is a welcome, safe environment of exploration for people who are familiar with basic elements of writing such as setting, character, plot, point of view, and dialog, but wish to foster new avenues for your writing paths through exercises and exchange with fellow writers.
