It is 1972 - the year of Olympics, Billie Jean King, The Partridge Family...and Vietnam. Becca and her friends are entering eighth grade and should be flying high on popularity and first crushes. But Becca made a promise she desperately wants to keep even as life propels her forward. With one simple piece of clothing, Becca and her friends confront a terror that haunts them as they try to move forward.
Directed by Jackie Davis: Jackie Davis is the Producing Artistic Director of the New Urban Theatre Laboratory in Boston, MA. She is happy that her last directorial project, "Gift of an Orange" written by Charlene Donaghy, and presented at the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival, is being included in the Best Short Plays of 2012. Ms. Davis is involved in all three disciplines, Theater, Film and Television. She is currently producing New Urban Theatre Lab's fourth season, to include teaming up for the third year with the playwrights of Proscenium Playwrights for the third annual New Urban Theatre Laboratory Five & Dime.
Starring:
Tasia A. Jones: Tasia A. Jones is an actor, director, writer, and theater educator. She holds a BFA in theatre arts from Boston University. Her most recent acting credits include THE GOOD PERSON OF SETZUAN (Fort Point Theatre Channel), THE EMBRYOS (Fresh Ink) and THE INSIDE (Can’t Wait Productions). Her recent directing credits include JESS & DJ: A BABY MAMA DRAMEDY (Bostonia Bohemia/ Interim Writers) and OLEANNA (Can't Wait Productions). Most recently she assisted in directing THE MOUNTAINTOP at Central Square Theater.
Alycia Love-Modeste: Alycia is an undergraduate student majoring in Theatre Arts at UMass Boston. She has been acting for roughly 7 years around the Boston area and has been working to expand her training in directing and acting on stage and film. She will be heading to Emerson next year to pursue a master's degree in Theatre Education. Some of the productions shes worked on include Little Shop of Horrors, Once Upon a Mattress, Lysistrata, and Anton Chekov's The Seagull opening in April. This is her first time acting in the SWAN festival and she is very excited to be working with so many talented artists.
Jojo Kindeur: JoJo is a recent graduate of Umass Boston with a major of Theatre Arts and a Minor in Dance. She is a part time actor saving up in hopes of moving to LA later this year to pursue her acting career. Her works include various theatre performances and background work for movies and films. She is very excited and blessed to be a part of a wonderful production and cast. Hope you enjoy the show!!!
